"Dear Y
Our names are X, X, X and X. We are all 16 to 17 years old and we all go to the same school -
Katrinelundsgymnasiet. We’re writing about one of USA’s 50 states, Texas.
Are you interested in sports? In Texas a lot of sports are commonly played. Sports such as basketball, football and ice-hockey are very normal in Texas. In fact, Texas’ basketball teams are the best in the whole US. Some even say that the sports in Texas can’t be ’’compared to anywhere else’’ since it’s too great to be compared. There are a lot of famous athletes in Texas, but I don’t think that they are very popular in Sweden since our most popular sport, soccer, isn’t commonly played there.
Ah, food! That’s something we all love. Have you ever tasted Chili con Carne? I bet you’ve
tasted it sometime since it’s commonly eaten in Sweden. Chili con Carne is sometimes served
during the lunches at the different schools in Sweden. Chili con carne is the national dish of
Texas and by eating it in Sweden, you get the feeling of Texas and (almost) everything it
represents ;).
What do you love doing in your sparetime? What would you like to name the main character in our book? Your book :-)
What a great way to get to know each other X ! We can’t wait to meet you during autumn
time when you go to 7th grade. You seem like a kind person and we would love to know
much more about what you like to do during your freetime & what your interests are.
See you soon!"
